Everyone shares information, not everyone case for a scientific-philosophical basis for it.
Before I even started my Bachelor in Piano Performance I discover the book of Edwin Gordon on his theory of audiation: this means, the theory of aural perception and musical imagination. As I was self-taught and very needy for any guidance in a city without much tradition for musical composition and conducting, I literally eated this book at the library of the university, still as an undergraduate in Philosophy.
His classification of the aural skills shaped decisevely my approach to music and helped me throw light in my educational darkness.

Today this is the very basis of my lessons in eartraining for composer, and why I focus on elementary musicianship as well.
Fun fact: i NEVER heard his name or the name of this theory in any of my courses at the university.
Audiation is a whole big topic in itself, let’s see if I develop it further.
