Here you have in the picture the notes taken on my previous lessons in history of music with an unusual start:
the “mythology of music” gives the framework to understand greek music theory, but also gives us at the same time the category that makes music historical, because it gives its very substance: aesthetics.
Only “in function” of the artwork and taken as an activity that seeks its own essence along history is music a true subject of history.
Interesting is how I have composers and musical creation in my focus even in the introductory phase of the course. Here we discuss the mytical experience of music as a foundation for history of music, with help of some ideas of Nietszche , Dahlhaus, and a brazilian philosopher called Eudora de Souza (book History and Myth) who happened to explore the thought pattern of Mircea Eliade and Heidegger regarding philosophy of history/aesthetics.
I am opening a new offer that is between the lessons and monthly feedback tiers: coaching for self-taught study. The goal is to give you the best directions as an engaged aspiring composer with a lot of time but low budget. This is will be available as a paid post on Patreon or directo on Paypal.
